Our relationship with teaching
Since forming our quartet, we have understood the importance of teaching as part of our lived experience as 21st-century musicians. Our first chamber coach, the iconic Merry Peckham, lit a fire in the four of us that made us realize the true power of playing music with others and for others as a deeply communal act. From those initial coaching sessions, we knew we had to continue exploring and sharing what we had learned with others.
Our teaching now
We have since made teaching and community engagement cornerstones of our regular work. As part of the Juilliard Gluck fellowship, we traveled around the greater NYC area, performing in settings from Mental hospitals to rehabilitation clinics, and sharing our art in dialogue with people we don't often have the chance to meet in the concert hall.
As of 2025, we became the Teaching Artists in Residence for Chesapeake Music, working with local Chesapeake Bay schools by visiting and working with students to share the same human skills we learned through our chamber music experience.
